"We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression."
I believe this is not only true on the national level, but on the local level as well. As our county grows, crime is on the increase. Weakness and poor command presence invites challenges to authority and a criminal boldness that brings about a spike in crime. The strong leadership I'm talking about is not about harshness ...it's about being firm and backing up what you say. Firmness says that a boundary is secure and won’t be crossed without a consequence. Firmness is about action, not anger.
I believe that the Sheriff's department needs fresh, strong leadership that takes firm action to maintain our peaceful community. I'm not afraid to stand alongside our deputies both on the street and in detention. I'm not afraid to draw the line. When leadership is strong, it gives the rank and file the confidence they need to do their job well. Culture comes from the top.
